Write an essay in which you compare Australian and Indian film making with reference to Ashoka and Gallipoli. Your discussion must address the fact that both films present stories of national significance. You may also use references to other films to enhance your discussion. You are required to write between 900 and 1200 words. The essay is out of 140.

Overview
We are attempting to broaden our horizons by looking at films produced outside of Hollywood. The texts for this unit include Gallipoli (Australia) and Asoka (Bollywood).
Both films celebrate events of national significance which provides a basis for significance.
